ProactiveWatch announced today the release of ProactiveWatch 1.4, an innovative IT management solution sold exclusively though value added resellers (VARs) and delivered as a software as a service (SaaS). ProactiveWatch is used to better manage applications, servers and networks and to optimize IT resources.
Building on its underlying solution for monitoring, diagnostics, and reporting ProactiveWatch 1.4 delivers an entirely new experience to a VAR's support of its customers allowing the VAR to support more customers with its existing staff. ProactiveWatch also generates new, recurring revenue to the VAR through resale of the ProactiveWatch console to the VAR's customers.
By reselling the console, the VAR's customer has access to a world class monitoring and diagnostics solution for a fraction of the cost of a competitive software package. The unique architecture of the hosted solution also allows a customer to share the responsibility and management of his business IT with his trusted VAR. Not only is this a practical business consideration for many smaller and growing companies strapped for extra resources but it also builds greater trust and loyalty between the VAR and his customer.
Combined with a free entry-level version of ProactiveWatch for the VAR (available at www.ProactiveWatch.com) the service promises to change the economics of the marketplace, particularly for underserved small to mid-sized businesses. Key updates in ProactiveWatch 1.4 include new monitors for LAT (Latency) that measures the Latency from a server agent to the ProactiveWatch back end, C2S (Client to Server) that allows latency measurement over a socket connection between any two computers that have agents on them, and a Port monitor to list TCP and UDP ports that you expect to see and ports that you do not expect to see for example, an FTP server on a non-authorized server or workstation.
Pricing and availability
ProactiveWatch 1.4 is available immediately and exclusively through a ProactiveWatch authorized reseller. ProactiveWatch suggested retail pricing is $35 per month per server, and scales down with volume discounts.
