ProactiveWatch technology has been engineered from the start to provide superior monitoring and diagnostics. Here's how:

• Intelligent, Light-Weight, and Autonomous Agents - ProactiveWatch Agents poll their hosts every 10 seconds to achieve unprecedented visibility. However, the agents use less than 1% of CPU, on average, for each polling interval which typically lasts less than a second. Agents use minimal bandwidth and only send alarm data and associated snapshots to the Gateway when needed.
• Firewall Friendly and Secure Communication Architecture - The ProactiveWatch Gateway collects Alarm data from the Agents, and communicates it outbound only over SSL (port 443) to the ProactiveWatch back end. No inbound ports need to be opened to make ProactiveWatch work.
• "Out-Of-Band" Monitoring Of Your Customer - ProactiveWatch monitors your customers' environments for availability "from the outside" and therefore is not dependent upon systems and networks at your customer sites being operational.
• Rich Client (.Net) Console (the ProactiveWatch Explorer) - Unlike other solutions whose usability and functionality are limited by a web console, ProactiveWatch uses a .Net rich client (the Explorer) for its console. This makes the product feature rich, but very easy to learn and use.
• Deep Monitoring and Diagnostics with Snapshots - When an Alarm condition occurs, the Agent "snapshots" the resource utilization state, the system profile, and the installed software state of the computer. When you see a ProactiveWatch alarm, you get a detailed snapshot along with it.
• Breadth of Coverage - ProactiveWatch includes agents for Windows and Linux (Red Hat and SUSE), templates for popular Windows servers like Exchange, SQL, IIS, and Citrix, templates for popular add-on products like HP Insight Manager, and Symantec Anti-Virus, and agentless monitoring of network devices via SNMP.
• Flexible Extenstion Architecture - ProactiveWatch includes an extension architecture that allows both ProactiveWatch and VAR partners to extend the system with monitoring functionality specific to a third party application or environment. ProactiveWatch provides extensions for Microsoft Exchange, several Backup and Anti-Virus products, and Microsoft Update. If you support a specific application or product in your business, you can easily write a script that monitors these products, and plug the results of that script into your instance of ProactiveWatch.
• Sophisticated Alarm Management - ProactiveWatch makes it easy to filter out false alarms with sophisticated alarm management. Alarms you do not want at all are easily excluded. Alarms you do not want at certain periods of time can be Marked As Normal during those time periods (reboots at night).
• Relevant, Easy To Use Customer Reports - Automatically generated monthly Customer Reports will prove your value as they identify and justify potential new projects for you to sell. The reports are output in Doc format so they are easy to modify and edit.
