ProactiveWatch includes Extensions that deeply monitor and analyze certain critical aspects of your customers' environments. ProactiveWatch provides extensions for Microsoft Exchange, various Anti-Virus products, various backup products, and MS Update. With these extensions you can sell "assurance" to your customers that their Exchange, Anti-Virus, backup, and MS Update processes are all working correctly without your having to check these items manually. You can also write your own extensions that take output from your scripts and feed it to ProactiveWatch for alarming and analysis. This allows you to provide added value to your customers and to integrate ProactiveWatch coverage with other applications or products that you sell or support. The Backup Extension supports several popular backup products. An Alarm for Symantec Backup Exec is shown below. The Alarm includes the detail of which backup job(s) failed, as well as the event log entries associated with the error.
The MS Update Extension ensures that all of the montitored Windows servers and workstations are up to date. If available updates have not been applied within the configured time window, you get an alarm that includes the list of updates that need to be applied to each server or workstation.
The Anti-Virus Extension supports several popular anti-virus products. If Symantec LiveUpdate is not able to apply its updates within the configured interval, you get the alarm shown below.
